FAQ

  • Q. I have Google Earth installed but cannot use the FreeSIS mapping tool?

    A. You need the Google Earth Plug-in which allows for the use of Google Earth embedded within websites, or applications. The Google Earth Plug-in can be installed along side Google Earth or without installing Google Earth. Download the Google Earth Plug-in

  • Q. I have an image I would like displayed within the mapping tool, how can this be done?

    A. KML files are structured text files which can define placemarkers and images overlays, among other things, to be displayed on top of Google Earth. KML files can be added to FreeSIS dynamically via the user interface. Information on how to create a KML file from scratch can be found on the KML resource page
