The breeding of oysters and lobster, and the farming of seaweed was on the programme when Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince Consort visited the Danish Shellfish Centre, DTU Aqua on 4 September as part of the Royal Couple’s annual summer tour with the Royal Yacht, Dannebrog.

H. M. Queen welcomed to the Danish Shellfish Centre, DTU Aqua by President of DTU Anders Bjarklev and Head of Section Jens Petersen Kjerulf. The Danish Shellfish Centre, DTU Aqua, is a research and science communication centre which focuses on the seafood in the Limfjord.

The Royal Couple tour the facilities at the Danish Shellfish Center where the Queen took a closer look at an oyster. The Danish seafood center, DTU Aqua researches in the production of oysters, mussel and lobster as well as species of crabs and seaweed.
