educational cruise
Havfisken is on an educational cruise in Øresund
The research vessel Havfisken is taking students on fieldwork as part of a course in ocean observation technologies.
From 9 to 12 June 2026, the research vessel Havfisken is on an educational cruise in Øresund. The cruise is part of DTU Aqua's MSc course Applied Ocean Observation Technologies.
The course provides students with both theoretical understanding and practical experience in modern ocean observation techniques, including acoustic and optical sensing as well as autonomous marine technologies.
The course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to conduct successful ocean fieldwork. It runs over three weeks combining lectures, exercises, and fieldwork in Øresund onboard Havfisken. At sea, students gain hands-on experience with observation technologies and professional oceanographic instruments.
