Asterias

Use

Asterias is used for monitoring in coastal areas, for example in relation to mussel and oyster stocks in the inner Danish waters, and for fieldwork in connection with research projects. The vessel can operate in both very nearshore areas in fjords as well as in open waters.

Size and layout

Asterias is 11.99 metres long and 4.6 metres wide, with a draft of 1.85 metres and a gross tonnage of 18.5 tonnes. The vessel is equipped for activities such as fishing, seabed sampling, side-scan sonar, diving operations, and video monitoring. There is space for 12 people on board and overnight accommodation for 5 people.

Asterias was built at the Jemar Norpower shipyard in Norway and was commissioned in 2026.
