DTU Aqua and Greenland Institute for Natural Resources are hosts for a three-day workshop with the aim of identifying knowledge gaps and possible solutions for sustainable management and development of fishery and aquaculture across Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands.

Representatives from universities, industry and ministries will participate and focus will be on sharing national experiences and establishing a network across borders and stakeholders.

The offset of the discussions is in prioritized order the following three Ocean decade challenges:

  • Challenge 2: Protect and restore ecosystems and biodiversity.
  • Challenge 3: Sustainably feed the global population.
  • Challenge 4: Develop a sustainable and equitable ocean economy.

The workshop is the second of four workshops financed by Nordic Ministers Council – AG Fisk. The workshop is organized by Theme Group 7, Sustainable Fishery and Aquaculture, within The Danish, Greenlandic, and Faroese Committee for UN Ocean Decade.
