Other research facilities

Apart from research ships and facilities for research on fish, shellfish and seaweed aquaculture, DTU Aqua has laboratories and other research facilities.


DTU Aqua has a range of laboratories that are used for purposes such as research into population genetics and assessment of the structure of the fish populations. 

Facilities for cultivating copepods

DTU Aqua has facilities for cultivating copepods, which are used in research into the lower levels of marine food chains, as well as for the production of algae used as feed for the copepods.

Flume tank

DTU Aqua has access to Denmark’s most advanced flume tank at the North Sea Science Park, where newly developed fishing gear is tested.
